Children (6 - 10 years)

Are you struggling to connect with your child? Is your child experiencing difficulty communicating their emotions and needs effectively? Children and parents today are faced with constant stress and pressures that can result in heightened levels of conflict. It may not always be clear what the origin of these behaviors and symptoms are, or the catalyst is quite evident, but the skills to navigate it, unknown.

Children do well when they are provided an emotionally safe space to feel seen, heard, validated, accepted and loved, with patience, limits and boundaries. This can be challenging when we as parents are running low on patience, are uncertain how to respond in stressful circumstances, or are struggling ourselves. This can leave little room in understanding how to manage our children’s tantrums effectively. Maladaptive behaviors are then observed infiltrating upon the family system, within the classroom, with other authority figures and socially with siblings or peers.

My experience and training as a Child and Family Therapist, in connection with my experience as a mother of 3 young children, contributes greatly to both my passion for supporting parents and families, as well as my desire to help those struggling in these roles, find peace, emotional connection, and success for both parent and child.

I enjoy utilizing Play Therapy, Sand-Tray Therapy and Parent Training techniques, in support of modeling effective approaches that lead to healthy and developmentally appropriate behaviors, as well as improved relationships within the family system.
